Topshop set to return to Newcastle years after collapse

John Lewis stores will stock Topshop-branded items from Tuesday, February 17.

The brand vanished from shops in 2021 following the collapse of former owner Arcadia but will now feature in all 32 John Lewis department stores across the UK, including Newcastle.

Michelle Wilson, managing director of Topshop, said: “Today is about making it easier for customers to access the Topshop and Topman pieces they love. ”

Partnering with John Lewis brings Topshop back to high streets across the UK with the level of service our customers expect.

The relaunch coincides with London Fashion Week and will be followed by a takeover of Piccadilly Circus in London and activations elsewhere across the UK.

It follows John Lewis’s £800 million investment plan and marks a wider expansion of its fashion offering.

The Newcastle store will carry a collection of 130 of Topshop’s “most in-demand pieces,” including its signature denim.

Topman will also return but will be stocked in only seven John Lewis locations.

Topshop was acquired by Asos after Arcadia’s administration and remained an online-only brand until last year’s physical retail comeback at Liberty in London.

The John Lewis partnership is now making the brand widely available in stores again.

John Lewis has also announced the introduction of 14 new fashion, jewellery, and accessory brands this season as part of its broader retail strategy.

The Topshop range will be available at the Newcastle John Lewis store and online through the John Lewis website beginning Tuesday.
