Heck! sausage manufacturer to host recruitment day in Bedale

Heck! is hosting an open day on February 28 at its Kirklington headquarters on Lime Lane, offering candidates the chance to meet the team, tour the facility, and learn more about roles.

Positions available include:

• Machine operators
• Mixing room team members
• Packing operatives
• Maintenance staff

The company says it is keen to find ‘enthusiastic people’ who are eager to grow in the food manufacturing sector.

Andrew Keeble, co-founder and CEO of Heck!, said: “We’re looking for enthusiastic people who want to be part of a brand that’s proud to make great-tasting, better-for-you food here in Yorkshire.”

The event runs from 10am to 12pm and includes a short interview and the opportunity to see a production line in action.

“From operating machinery to helping our products get from our HQ to supermarket shelf, there’s something here for anyone who enjoys learning and being part of a team,” added Keeble. 

The recruitment drive is part of the company’s ongoing expansion, and visitors will have the opportunity to meet some of the team behind the brand on the day.

As one of the largest private employers in the area, Heck! plays a significant role in North Yorkshire’s dynamic food manufacturing sector. 

According to the Office for National Statistics (January 2025), the North East recorded an employment rate of 70.4 per cent, an unemployment rate of 5.4% and an economic inactivity rate of 25.5 per cent among 16–64‑year‑olds.
