Darlington’s jobs fair set to return to town
The annual event will be held on Wednesday, February 11 from 10am to 2pm at the indoor market, bringing together dozens of exhibitors from a wide range of sectors.
Opportunities will be on offer in retail, logistics, construction, the Civil Service, health and care, and more, with employers from both the public and private sectors in attendance.
Councillor Chris McEwan, cabinet member for economy, said: “Itβs great to see the jobs fair returning to Darlington for another year.
“This free to attend event grows in popularity every year and is the perfect opportunity for anyone seeking to change careers, start their career or to retrain.
“Darlington jobs fair is unique in our town, in that it allows people the opportunity to chat to potential employers at the same time as seeking any support they may need to assist them whilst they look to secure a new job.
“I hope people come along and make the most of such a brilliant opportunity.”
Education and training providers will also be on hand to offer advice on learning and development opportunities, while support organisations will provide guidance to help attendees overcome barriers to employment.
The fair is open to anyone seeking work, nearing the end of a qualification, considering a career change, or simply exploring new opportunities.
Those who register will receive a reminder about the event.
Councillor McEwan said: “Part of our commitment as a council to organising and delivering Darlington jobs fair every year, is to ensure we practically play our part in helping to find high quality, secure, well paid employment opportunities for local people which will in turn support and enhance our economy.”
Those interested in attending can register online via the Eventbrite website.
All registered attendees will receive a reminder closer to the date of the event.
