Estabulo to open new restaurant in Darlington in early 2026
The Brazilian steakhouse chain will be making a comeback to the town in a matter of months as it moves into the former Pizza Hut restaurant.Β
The firm – which was located at DL1 until its sudden closure last January – recently erected signs on the front of its new Horsemarket home, teasing it is coming soon.Β
And now, Estabulo’s website has updated to reveal that the new restaurant will be coming in early 2026, asking punters to sign up to hear more news.Β
It has now been more than a year since the chain suddenly shut its doors at home at DL1 – where it had been since 2018 – for what it said was a refurbishment at the time.Β
The unit was then stripped of its furnishings and signs, and several months later, the news it would be relocating was confirmed when its logos went up on Horsemarket.Β
While the reopening decision was praised, it came as a major blow for the troubled DL1 following several big name closures in recent years.Β
This includes Prezzo in 2018, Mango Bean in 2020, The Chinese Buffet in 2021, Tomahawk in 2024, and Bella Italia in 2025.
While the new Estabulo site is largely known as the old Pizza Hut building, for a brief spell last year it operated as Italian restaurant Mafea.Β
However, within weeks of opening, the venue suddenly closed and fell silent online, with no reason ever given as to the sudden departure.Β
The Northern Echo has contacted Estabulo for more information on the opening.
