Sandside CafΓ© in Sandsend is sat on the foundations of the old viaduct that ran through the fishing village until it was closed in 1958.

It offers a vast selection of cakes and bakes such as its award-winning Triple Chocolate Brownie, Rocky Road, Fruit and Cheese Scones and gluten free Carrot Cake.

All of Sandside Café’s sweet treats are either home-baked or made in-house by the β€œtalented” Jenny Tindall from Head House Bakery.

On TikTok, North Yorkshire travel content creator @adventures.in.yorkshire shared in aΒ video: β€œNestled in the pretty fishing village of Sandsend, just a few miles from Whitby, you’ll find Sandside CafΓ© β€” a cosy spot perched on the old viaduct foundations that once ran through the village before closing in 1958.”

@adventures.in.yorkshire hailed the coastal cafΓ© for being the β€œperfect” place for a β€œseaside stroll stop-off or a sweet treat with a view”.

Over on Tripadvisor, Sandside CafΓ© has a current rating of 4.3/5 from an impressive 1,003 reviews – 590 of which are rated as β€œexcellent”.

Someone who visited earlier this month commented: β€œWe visited today and once again were blown away by the exceptional service, quality of amazing food and great value for money. I had the crab sandwich which was full to bursting with crab. Couldn’t recommend the sand side cafe highly enough.”

Another complimented: β€œThe best place to eat in the whole area, nowhere beats the crab they serve. Super fresh and good size portions. The Bakewell tart is also outstanding.

“We have visited this cafe for years and dream of their crab sandwiches – firm family favourite and tradition of always visiting here.”

Meanwhile, another happy customer wrote: β€œA lovely cafe overlooking the beach and the full English breakfast was amazing.

“There was also a large assortment of homemade cakes and scones which looks yummy. Highly recommend a visit.”
