Smash burger chain Burger Drop to open in Middlesbrough
Burger Drop, which was founded in Newcastle in 2020, has announced that it will be launching its sixth restaurant this autumn.Β
Known for its βprecision-engineeredβ smashed burgers and brioche buns, the firm currently boasts sites in Whitley Bay, Sunderland, Manchester and Edinburgh.Β
And the independent brandβs next move will see it open its first on Teesside, which will boast 20 indoor covers as well as takeaway and delivery via Uber Eats.Β
The exact location of the venue has not yet been confirmed.Β
The firm, founded by entrepreneurs Hasan Hamid and Amer Qayyum, has gone on to grow a loyal following with a βcult-like appealβ.
It has especially proved popular with Gen Z and millennials, who βexpect more from their burgers than just hype and melted cheeseβ.Β
Menu favourites include the halloumi smash, grilled onion smash, and loaded fries, with toppings like angus beef, spicy cheese and jalapeΓ±os, and chicken gyro.
The menu also features chicken tenders, available in classic, BBQ and spicy, and a line-up of milkshakes in flavours like Oreo, Lotus Biscoff, peanut butter, salted caramel and more.Β
Co-founder Hasan said: βFollowing the success of our other five venues, weβre buzzing to bring Burger Drop to Middlesbrough.
βItβs a place that fits our DNA β full of energy, creativity and community spirit. We canβt wait to open the doors and serve up what we do best.β
