The Blue Bell in Yarm bids for new outdoor bar on terrace
The Blue Bell, in Yarm, has submitted an application to Stockton Council for a new outdoor bar area, alongside some additional internal fixed seating.
It comes months after the pub re-opened in February following a revamp, as new landlords Alison Shaw and husband Matt took on the reins.
Alison said she wanted the Yarm Road pub to become a “focal point” of the town, relaunching with a new look and new draught offerings to pull behind the bar.

And now, the landlady, who previously looked after The Manor House in Ingleby Barwick, is hoping to boost the venue’s outdoor offering.
She told The Northern Echo ahead of the opening in February about her exciting plans to introduce drink service direct from the terrace.
It is not known at this time what drinks would be available from the bar if approved – although The Blue Bell currently serves a range of cocktails, white, red, and rose wine, and several beers on draft.
As previously reported, the garden area has already been given a sprucing up, with the decking repainted alongside new furniture, tables, and cushions.

The Blue Bell’s beer garden is often regarded as one of the pub’s best features, looking out onto the River Tees and the back of Yarm High Street.
It has even been branded “one of the best beer gardens on Teesside”.
The consultation on the licensing application will close on July 7.
