Hartlepool Service Station bans off-road bikers from pumps

Hartlepool Service Station, on Belle Vue Way, has made the move and is calling on other petrol stations to follow suit.

The business has been praised by Hartlepool MP Jonathan Brash and councillor Quewone Bailey-Fleet for “taking a stand against illegal and dangerous off-road biking in the town.”

Cllr Bailey-Fleet said: “Illegal off-road bikes have become a real threat in Hartlepool, tearing through our parks and streets, flying past schools, and putting everyone at risk, especially our children and elderly.

“Hartlepool Service Station in Rossmere has taken a clear and commendable stand by refusing to supply fuel to illegal off-road bikes.

“Vicky and the entire team have shown what local leadership looks like by putting the safety of residents first and standing with our community against antisocial behaviour.

“Hartlepool Service Station has always supported Rossmere and this step sends a strong message that public safety comes before profit.

“I hope other local businesses will follow their lead.

“We all have a role to play in protecting our town.”

Mr Brash, who was elected as Hartlepool MP in 2024,ย has previously raised the issue of illegal quadbikes in Westminster, calling on the government to work with suppliers to “choke off the supply of fuel” for illegal bikes.
