AI experts to speak at live NETPark event on June 20

Central to all of these Echo events is the audience, who will be asking their own questions and giving their personal views on Artificial Intelligence.

The panel this time includes Dominic Lusardi – a regular contributor for the Echo’s BUSINESSiQ website and whose forthright vision of the future of AI makes him a sought-after speaker.

Alongside Dom, our keynote will be given by Professor Amir Michael of Durham University,  a firm believer in the power of AI to transform a business.

He told us: “Using AI, Analytics and Visualisation will help to gain a valuable understanding of the massive – not just big – data floating around us.

“That will then give our businesses better management of their resources and better ways of making crucial financial and non-financial decisions.”

The panel also includes Cllr Stephen Gray of Durham County Council, Colin Tempest from believe housing, Dominic Coles from Cummins and Colm Simpson from tech experts razorblue.

Northern Echo Business Editor Mike Hughes said: “The rise of Artificial Intelligence is one of the most transformative challenges for any business – as well as in our homes and classrooms.

“The pace with which it is growing is astonishing and one of the technological wonders of our age, but it also means we have to move just as fast to make sure we understand it and can work alongside it and use it to make our businesses even better.

“I hope this sort of event- the second we have held on AI – will help by bringing together experts and AI users from a whole range of sectors to see how they are handling it.”

Seats are free – but limited – for the event which starts at 10am at  Durham University’s Orbit building, so to reserve one, just follow this link and click the ‘Get Tickets’ button – bit.ly/IMPACTnetpark
