Owner Ben Sanderson, 32, has also increased the range of products on sale, including hot and cold drinks, cakes, and biscuits.
Dogs are welcome at the garden centre and can enjoy free dog biscuits.
Visitors can also see the wholesale nursery greenhouses from the cafΓ© seating area, which grow more than three million plants a year for distribution across the North East.
Mr Sanderson said: “Iβm really pleased with this expansion, more than doubling the size of Benβs Plants.Ben’s Plants owner Ben Sanderson (Image: Ben’s Plants)
“We now stock an even greater range of perennials, bedding plants, vegetable plants, shrubs, trees, pots, and containers together with hanging baskets and pots already planted for you.
“Itβs been so nice to see so many customers from last year but many new faces who are visiting Benβs Plants for the first time.
“Customers really seem to appreciate that the majority of the plants we sell are grown here β we are not shipping them in from anywhere else.”
Benβs Plants is situated on the site of Neasham Nurseries , Mr Sanderson’s familyβs long-established wholesale business.
Benβs Plants welcomes customers from Wednesday to Sunday until June 30.
Opening hours are 10am to 4pm Wednesday to Saturday and 10am to 2pm on Sundays.
